Ogimachisanjo Saneaki (正親町三条実昭)

Saneaki OGIMACHISANJO (January 3, 1625 - June 16, 1668) was a Kugyo (court noble) during the early Edo period. He was a retainer of the Imperial Court who mainly served three emperors, Empress Meisho (109th), Emperor Gokomyo (110th), and Emperor Gosai (111th), and was promoted to the official court rank of Jusanmi Sangi (Junior Third Rank, Councilor). His father was Saneyoshi OGIMACHISANJO, Dainagon (Chief Councilor of State).

His older brother was Kintaka OGIMACHISANJO, Sangi (Councilor). His wife was a daughter of Tamekage REIZEI, a government official of Konoefu (the Headquarters of the Inner Palace Guards). One of his sons was Kinkado OGIMACHISANJO, Sangi, and Sanehisa OGIMACHISANJO, Chunagon (Vice-councilor of State). He was firstly named Suenari.

He was confeered a peerage in 1631. When he served at Gyobusho (Ministry of Justice), he succeeded to the Ogimachisanjo family in 1649 as the adopted son of his older brother, Kintaka, who died in the previous year. After he served as a government official at Konoefu, he became Jusanmi Sangi in 1655 and joined Kugyo, but he resigned in the same year. He died in 1668. Died at the age of 45.
